About Hay River Animal Hospital
Hay River Animal Hospital moved to Prairie Farm, Wisconsin in 2013. We offer both small and large animal veterinary services.
Our Small Animal services include preventative medicine including wellness exams, vaccinations, dental prophylaxis, nail trims and bathing services. We also offer routine surgeries, as well as dental cleanings and hospitalization. We pride ourselves in having in-house digital x-ray and laboratory diagnostics.
Our on the farm Large Animal services include preventative and diagnostic services for our dairy, beef and small ruminant clients. We offer surgeries, ultrasound and herd health maintenance, milk culturing, x-ray, and in-house laboratory diagnostics.
Dr. Laurie Junkans pictured with her daughter, Syd. Dr. Junkans received her DVM degree from the University of Minnesota. She has been practicing in Prairie Farm and surrounding communities since 2000. She is an avid Vikings fan and has several pets including 3 dogs, a cat, 5 goats and a flock of chickens.

Jess Fredericks is our Veterinary Technician, who graduated from Argosy University. Jess and her husband, Chris, farm in the Prairie Farm area and raise suri alpacas, angora rabbits, and various types of poultry. She also has many other pets including dogs, cats and horses.
